VIDEO: Redskins Safety Landon Collins Says He Would Like to Hit Giants GM Dave Gettleman on Sideline
By Thomas Carannante
Landon Collins still hasn't gotten the bad taste out of his mouth from the lack of contract negotiations with the New York Giants this past offseason. After four stellar years with the team, new general manager Dave Gettleman let Collins walk to the division-rival Washington Redskins. Mr. Gettleman better make sure he's in a suite when the two teams face off this year because Collins is ready to give him the business if he's on the sideline.
That's Collins saying he would give the 68-year-old a "a nice little thud, a nice little run-over, a quick little ‘Uuhh,’ something like that." Sure, he has a joking tone there, but this won't be received well by anybody. Collins needs to let go of the fact that the Giants let him walk to get paid a ton of money by somebody else.
After all, while Collins was a great player for the G-Men, he had plenty of flaws, especially in coverage where he was not immune to getting burned for deep plays.
Also, the Giants are clearly undergoing a rebuild, so why in the world are you still upset they let you walk to a team that probably has a better chance of winning in the NFL right now?
The Redskins and Giants will meet twice in 2019, so it'll be interesting to see if any interaction occurs between Collins and the GM.
