VIDEO: Referees Somehow Missed Obvious Travel From 76ers' James Ennis Against the Bucks
By Karl Rasmussen
Traveling violations are pretty much an afterthought in the NBA at this point. Even some of the glaringly obvious travels go uncalled in today's game, and that was evident on Christmas Day when 76ers forward James Ennis somehow got away with taking multiple steps on a fast break layup.
Ennis doesn't put the ball on the hardwood a single time on route to the basket. The forward made a full 360 turn, which consisted of about five steps, before putting the ball in the hoop.
Somehow, officials deemed this to be a legal move, despite the absurd amount of steps Ennis took in between catching the ball in transition and laying it off the glass.
Everyone watching from home could see that the refs slipped up on this one. In a league where players like James Harden can draw a whistle on even the slightest bit of contact, it's pretty embarrassing to see the referees stay silent after a player takes five steps without a single dribble.
