VIDEO: Refs Inexcusably Overturn Obvious Memphis Catch in 4th Quarter and Cost Them the Game
By Ryan Flores

The Memphis Tigers trailed the Temple Owls 16-0 at one point in the second quarter, yet managed to complete an incredible comeback despite four turnovers. With Memphis in Temple territory with less than three minutes to go, quarterback Brady White threw a remarkably clutch fourth-down pass to Joey Magnifico that would have extended the game. However, upon further review the referees somehow thought that Magnifico didn't catch the ball cleanly and overturned the play, stripping Memphis of both their first down and possession.
I know no one was watching during this crazy UGA game, but this was ruled a catch on a 4th-and-9th in a 2-point game. And somehow was overturned for no reason, costing Memphis the game.

What an absolute embarrassment for the @American_FB. https://t.co/0Zs3kveMLd
It's hard to see why the referees thought that this wasn't a catch. The ball never touches the ground, and Magnifico secured the ball cleanly to the point that there really should not have been any argument.
Memphis' perfect start has come to an unjust end, as they are now 5-1 on the season. While there's no guarantee they'd have converted on the drive, they were absolutely robbed by the refs.
