VIDEO: Rex Ryan Rips Browns Head Coach Freddie Kitchens on ESPN Radio Show

We're halfway through the 2019 NFL season, and Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens looks increasingly out over his skis with each passing week. The latest example of his coaching "brilliance" came during a loss against the New England Patriots Sunday, as he decided to punt on fourth-and-11 in a two-score game. After a false start penalty, he decided to go for it on 4th-and-16 for reasons not yet known. This prompted the ire of former Jets head coach Rex Ryan, who lamented the fact the Browns hired Kitchens over former interim boss Gregg Williams, who ended up with the Jets as defensive coordinator.

Cleveland hired Kitchens due to his chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield, allowing Williams to take the defensive coordinator job with the New York Jets.
Kitchens' offensive creativity has either been solved or simply fizzled away after last season's promising end to the campaign, as the Browns are just 2-5 and are sliding down the AFC North standings. Mayfield has regressed, while the defense had difficulty stopping anything underneath yesterday.
Kitchens, who is refusing to give up play calling to offensive coordinator Todd Monken, is the epitome of the fact that hiring the best offensive coordinator on the market doesn't translate to success, as calling plays and managing all 53 players, all aspects of the week's prep, and gameday execution are all very different tasks.
The Browns had a chance to get Bruce Arians. Imagine all that talent on offense with Arians.

Kitchens' first (and possibly only) year in Cleveland has been a complete wash. Even Ryan looks like Lombardi compared to him.
