VIDEO: Ric Flair Announces He's Headed to Astros Game to Hang Out With Josh Reddick
By Ryan Giglio
In an energetic (but also bizarre) video posted to his Twitter account, legendary pro wrestler Ric Flair announced he will be at the Astros game on Wednesday. The Nature Boy will be hanging out with Astros outfielder and huge wrestling fan Josh Reddick, and did literally nothing to hide his excitement about that fact.
In 2017, Flair endorsed Astros fans and players, including Reddick, using his iconic "Wooo!" to celebrate quality plays. Naturally, Houston went on to win the World Series.
In this 82-second video, #TheNaitch describes Reddick as his "great friend" and cited "minor health issues" for his absence from the Fall Classic two seasons ago. Reddick is known for being a huge wrestling fan, often wearing a "Woo!" tank top and using Flair's entrance music as his walk-up theme.
In July, the Astros sold a Reddick-and-Flair-themed bobblehead adorned with a robe. The bobblehead quickly sold out.
Flair is attending Wednesday's game because it is Josh Reddick bobblehead giveaway night once again at Minute Maid Park. And with a legend of the squared circle in attendance, there is no excuse for Reddick to not hit a few bombs.
