VIDEO: Richie Martin Beats Out Crazy Inside-the-Park Home Run off David Price
By Jerry Trotta
Well, you don't see this everyday. Especially within the confines of Camden Yards. With the Orioles clinging to a 3-2 lead against the Red Sox on Friday, Baltimore's Richie Martin managed to provide a little insurance for his club in arguably the hardest way possible. He scored an inside-the-park home run, well technically a triple with an E9, after a series of misplays from J.D. Martinez in right field.
Not only did Martinez laughably misjudge the carom but he also bobbled the simple act of PICKING UP THE BASEBALL -- more than once!
We'll go out on a limb and say that Alex Cora is regretting his decision to insert Mookie Betts as Boston's DH tonight. If Betts is out there, Martin stops at second, no questions asked. Instead, he's already back in the dugout and the O's lead grew even further.
