VIDEO: Rick Porcello Angrily Breaks 2 TVs in Boston's Dugout After Surrendering a Run
By Michael Luciano
I must emphasize that I am not a therapist, but maybe Rick Porcello could have found a more productive way to let off all that steam? The Boston Red Sox pitcher wasn't exactly thrilled that he surrendered a first inning RBI single to Travis d'Arnaud, and let it be known by punching two TVs and breaking them.
Maybe that's just a little bit of an overreaction there, Rick.
Did Porcello's cathartic outburst lead to a productive outing afterward? Nope! Far from it! Porcello gave up four runs in the second inning, including home runs to Kevin Kiermaier and Austin Meadows, which put the Red Sox in a 5-0 hole. With five runs allowed in four innings, his ERA is now a garish 5.74 on the season.
