Nats starter and arguably their best player on their roster, Max Scherzer, may have suffered a broken nose Tuesday after being hit in the face with a ball while practicing bunts in BP.
Scherzer is getting further tests done and further updates will tell wether or not the righty will end up on the IL.

The three-time Cy Young award winner has pitched well for the struggling Nats so far. Despite having a record of just 5-5, his ERA certainly makes up for it sitting at 2.81. The Nationals, who have the worst bullpen in baseball with an ERA of 6.27, have blown several of Scherzer's leads which ultimately is why the team is in fourth place in the NL East.
This news about Scherzer is just adding to what has been a horrendous season for the Nationals. Hopefully Max's nose is not broken and he will be back out on the mound sooner rather than later.
