VIDEO: Rob Ryan is Running Some Insane Drills at Redskins Camp
By Kevin Aquino
Live action from Redskins training camp keeps surfacing, and while the quarterback battle has been settled for the moment, there's still some fun to be had. Yes, Washington inside linebackers coach Rob Ryan has his players tackling dummies-- but they aren't stopping there.
Footwork is essential as an athlete, and Ryan is dotting his i's and crossing his t's with this drill. Will Redskins linebackers continue to drive and move their feet when they already have their opponent down when the regular season comes around?
For entertainment's sake, let's hope so.
Ryan joined the Redskins in January in what is his first NFL job since serving as Buffalo's assistant head coach in 2016. Ryan was fired alongside his brother, Rex, who was head coach at the time.
Washington's defense finished just below the middle of the pack at 17th in the league last season in yards allowed per game, and doing the little things go a long way when it comes to shutting down an opposing team's attack.
Though I'm not sure if continuing to drive your opponents when they're already down is categorized in those little things.
