VIDEO: Robinson Cano Ironically Injures Quad While Running Out Ground Ball
By Max Scoli

After recent criticism for his lack of hustle, Robinson Cano was ironically forced to leave Wednesday's game against the Nationals with left quad tightness after running out a grounder in the third inning.
Cano has made a bit of a pattern of not running out routine plays, allowing the opposing defenses to easily get him out with little effort.
So Robinson Cano gets put on blast for not running out ground balls, is benched, told he needs to run out plays, runs out a play today...and leaves with left quad tightness.

You can't make this stuff up.
This sparked a fire under Mets staff and fans for his lack of hustle. Yet, the five-time Silver Slugger was quick to jump to his own defense in the following interview before today's game.
With these thoughts undoubtedly fresh in his mind, Cano busted down the first base line after hitting a ground ball. He probably wishes he had stuck to his previous antics.

The eight-time MLB All-Star has been subpar this season, hitting .244 with 3 home runs and 13 RBI. His numbers were not improving as of late, holding a .200 batting average with only one RBI in his last seven games.
Perhaps this injury will give Cano a chance to get his momentum back as he hopes to rejuvenate his career with the New York Mets
