VIDEO: Ronald Acuña Absolutely Destroys Caleb Smith Fastball to Extend Braves' Lead Over Marlins
By Michael Luciano
Every time you see him hit another long, majestic home run, you have to stop and remind yourself that Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. is just 21 years old. With a 30-30 season all but assured, Acuña has now set his sights on a 40-40 campaign, and moved one step closer when he hit a massive two-run homer off of Miami Marlins starter Caleb Smith. With Acuña's 36th home run of the season, the Braves opened up a 5-0 lead over the Marlins.
Acuña now has 36 home runs, 152 hits, and an NL-best 29 stolen bases.
While Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich and Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Cody Bellinger have been jockeying back-and-forth for both the home run title and NL MVP, it's high-time we get a third party in that debate, as Acuña is the record-breaking and show-stopping player that makes the NL East-best Braves go.
Acuña has feasting on Marlins pitching in his short career, and continues to do so tonight in Atlanta.
