VIDEO: Ronald Acuña Jr. Crushes Leadoff Homer to Get Braves Rolling vs Mets
By Brian Cass
The Atlanta Braves are fresh off a huge NL East series win over the Philadelphia Phillies, and now they're facing another divisional foe in the New York Mets. Their bats have been on fire recently, so it should be no surprise that they're getting off to another fast start in their series opener with the Mets.
Facing Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler, who has a career ERA of 3.19 against the Braves, outfielder Ronald Acuña absolutely smashed a leadoff home run to get the ball rolling for his club. That dinger marks his 17th of the season.
Acuña has been stellar all year long for Atlanta, posting a .296 average while totaling 47 RBIs. It's not easy to hit leadoff home runs against divisional opponents who know you better than anyone, but Ronnie made that one look easy.
