VIDEO: Ronald Acuña Jr. Narrowly Misses Robbery on Cody Bellinger's 42nd Homer of the Year
By Kevin Aquino
Cody Bellinger just can't be contained at the plate, and despite Ronald Acuña's best efforts, he put the Dodgers up 3-0 over the Braves in the first inning. Bellinger boomed a pitch from Max Fried to dead center field, and while Acuña had a shot at bringing the ball back in play, he narrowly missed the catch as the ball cleared the wall.
Acuña Jr., known for making highlight catches, was not thrilled about coming up short on defense, angrily tossing his glove in the aftermath.
Bellinger's MVP campaign continued with a strong debut at-bat on Sunday, and he'll look to add even more theatrics as the game progresses.
For now, let's just appreciate that silky smooth swing as he launched his league-leading 42nd of the year.
