VIDEO: Roy Halladay Tossed a Perfect Game 9 Years Ago Today for the Phillies
By Parker White

Roy Halladay will be inducted into Cooperstown this summer, and even though we know how great he was on the mound, we can sometimes forget how truly brilliant he was. If you needed a refresher, on this day nine years ago, Halladay tossed a perfect game against the Florida Marlins as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies. It was the 20th perfect game in MLB history.
Nine years ago today, Roy was spotless.

Halladay didn't overpower opposing lineups with velocity, but he could dot his cutter and sinker on both sides of the plate, while mixing in a curveball and splitter to finish batters off or create weak contact.
Halladay needed just 115 pitches, 72 of which were strikes, to deliver the second perfect game in Phillies franchise history. He also racked up a whopping 11 strikeouts and allowed an even number (8) of ground ball to fly ball outs.

Let's just say this Marlins lineup, highlighted by Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla, didn't have a chance that day.
