VIDEO: Ryan Braun Swung at the Worst Pitch of All Time in 11th Inning vs Astros' Josh James

Not every major leaguer produces a perfect swing each time they step into the batter's box. In fact, even the best or most experienced players can be found looking foolish at the dish. Just ask Ryan Braun, who found himself swinging the lumber at what may have been the worst pitch we've ever seen, courtesy of Astros' reliever Josh James.

What on earth was going through Braun's mind here? He must have been 100% committed to an inside-fastball, as he was completely fooled by James' offering which didn't even enter the vicinity of the strike zone. This was in the 11th inning of the game, where every at-bat is critical, so wasting a strike on that pitch was absolutely mind-boggling.

The pitch didn't even reach the plate, and was so bad, that catcher Robinson Chirinos was unable to go retrieve it, as it had left the field of play after hopping over the backstop.

What's even more amazing about the swing is the Brewers outfielder casually brushed it off like nothing happened. Braun didn't even care he just hacked at a pitch three feet outside. He stepped out, tightened his batting gloves, and got back in the box for the next pitch to be delivered.

Even someone like Braun, a 13-year veteran, can be made look foolish at the plate, and he gave us a perfect example of a veteran hitter looking like a newbie on the scene.
