VIDEO: Saints CB Eli Apple Goes Down With Non-Contact Knee Injury in 4th Quarter vs Bears

In the fourth quarter of the New Orleans Saints vs. Chicago Bears matchup, Saints cornerback Eli Apple went down with a non-contact injury, and it didn't look too good for him.

His injury occurred in garbage time, too, which is too bad. What's good is that Apple was able to walk off the field under his own power, albeit quite gingerly. The initial diagnosis for the injury was a hyperextended knee, although further testing will determine the long-term severity of the injury.

Apple has been in the league for four years. After a tumultuous start to his career with the New York Giants, he was traded to the Saints in October of 2018 and has carved out a sizable role for the Saints defense.

Hopefully Apple's injury isn't a season-ending one, as he's a free agent this upcoming offseason. Bears fans won't complain about the injury, however, after Apple was seen taunting 5-6 Tarik Cohen for his height earlier in the game.
