VIDEO: Saquon Barkley Celebrating Giants Win With Crutches and Walking Boot is Utterly Depressing
By Sean Facey

Despite a dramatic victory, things aren't looking free and clear for the still-reigning offensive centerpiece of the New York Giants. Saquon Barkley was spotted on the sideline with crutches and a walking boot midway through Sunday's game, putting a truly depressing damper on the debut of quarterback Daniel Jones and the team's efforts against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It got even sadder when Matt Gay went wide right, and Saquon had to celebrate...while still hobbled.

When 'Quon first emerged from the locker room, we were all thoroughly depressed.

When the initial tackle forced him out of the game, and he actually needed to be helped by two trainers as he limped his way to the locker room, shock was the more prevalent emotion, though.
Barkley was the heart and soul of the offense last year, and it looked to be more of the same this year prior to the injury. Coming into Week 3, Barkley had managed 227 yards on the ground on just 29 carries.

It's simply heartbreaking to see one of the league's youngest stars go down with an injury on an otherwise nondescript play.
Hopefully, it isn't anything too severe, and the postgame diagnosis of a high ankle sprain remains the consensus, following an MRI. He was a Pro Bowl talent in his rookie year and somehow took a step forward here in his second season, prior to this injury. The Giants' future hinges on his health, so it will be intriguing to see what the extent of the damage is, once the high from the victory wears off.
