VIDEO: Seahawks Rookie Jazz Ferguson Fights off Broncos Defender to Make Spectacular Touchdown Grab
By Karl Rasmussen
The Seattle Seahawks drafted an athletic freak at wide receiver in D.K. Metcalf, but they have another rookie wideout who is just as capable. Former LSU outcast Jazz Ferguson latched on with Seattle in the offseason and has looked very impressive in his preseason debut. Watch him fend off a Broncos' defender as he secures the touchdown grab from Paxton Lynch.
Ferguson is an interesting story, having been kicked off the LSU football program for failing drug tests, and then flunking out of the university altogether. The 6-foot-5 receiver moved on to play at Northwestern State, before declaring for the draft.
Despite going undrafted, Ferguson was snatched up almost immediately by the Seahawks, due to his blazing 4.45-second 40-yard dash, paired with his massive frame. Combine that with the strength and hands he displayed in this play, and there's no reason he can't develop into a really solid wideout in the league.
