VIDEO: Shaq Trolls Dwight Howard After Being Asked Question About Lakers Signing Him
By Michael Luciano
Becoming a Los Angeles Laker at some point during your career is almost a right of passage among the best big men in the game. Dwight Howard just inked a deal with the Lakers following short and messy stints in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Washington. Shaquille O'Neal, a Laker great who formed a mini-rivalry with Howard during the latter's days in Orlando, jabbed him with his trademark wit when asked his feelings on D-12's move to LA.
Instead of talk about Howard's move to the Lakers, Shaq simply pretended not to know who the big man is.
The eight-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year was recently bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies. Now, Howard is back for his second stint in LA after his one year alongside Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash fell well short of expectations.
Even at the age of 33, Howard adds size, rebounding, and defense to a team that could use another bruiser down low to combat the wave of big centers that have cropped up out west.
Howard is not the "Superman" that was carrying the Orlando Magic to the finals, but he still has a lot left to give as an NBA player, provided his head is on straight.
