VIDEO: Shohei Ohtani Becomes First Japanese-Born MLB Player to Hit for the Cycle
By Seth Carlson

Shohei Ohtani has been quite the revelation since arriving to MLB with the Angels last season. After hitting .285 and pitching to a 3.31 ERA, he captured the 2018 AL Rookie of the Year award, becoming the only active big league player to regularly hit and pitch at a high level. Now, you can add a cycle to the dual threat Angel's impressive ledger.
The first MLB cycle ever by a Japanese-born player.

Not even the great Ichiro Suzuki, who retired with over 3,000 career MLB hits, ever achieved a cycle! Congratulations, Shohei, on becoming the first ever Japanese-born player to achieve this iconic feat in the Show.
