VIDEO: Skip Bayless Seems to Think LeBron James Used Injury as an Excuse for Loss to Clippers
Skip Bayless has always been known as a LeBron James hater, but this is just another level of disrespect to a player who will go down as one of the best to ever do it. LeBron, who re-injured his groin during the first quarter of the Christmas Day game against the Clippers, shot a poor 9-of-24 from the field and turned the ball over on the final possession in the Lakers' loss, which has certainly brought out his critics. But now one of them in Bayless is claiming his injury "excuse" is "bologna."
For some reason, Skip doesn't believe that LeBron's injury is real, calling it some "mysterious injury" when he sat out Sunday's game against the Nuggets.
Sure, LeBron didn't have the best game and that final possession was a bad look, but he was the only Lakers starter to have a positive plus-minus. He also led his team in points and assists and tied for the lead in rebounds and steals.
But we guess it's LeBron's grand plan to have his media cronies reveal his injury as the reason he lost because he can't have a bruised ego over a regular-season game? Skip is really reaching here, isn't he?
While the Lakers are currently on a four-game losing streak, the paramount concern is LeBron's long-term health, especially if they want to win a championship. As for Skip? His paramount concern is finding ways to bring down the King, but we'll see who's laughing come June.
