VIDEO: Skunk Invades Salem Red Sox Minor League Game and Causes a Delay
By Daniel Marcillo

Baseball will always provide fans with something they have never seen before. We have seen a bird hit by a Randy Johnson fastball, cats clawing groundskeepers, but now we have a skunk wreaking havoc during a game between the Down East Wood Ducks and Salem Red Sox.
There's nothing like a stinkin' skunk delay.

You can tackle fans and even shoo away birds walking around the baselines, but for obvious reasons, you do not want to frighten a skunk.
Thankfully no one has to bathe in tomato juice. The skunk was escorted off the field by grounds crew member without any commotion.

Can we call him the rally skunk? We've seen a rally squirrel and a rally cat. Maybe it's time for a change especially given the rarity of this situation.
There could definitely be a jeopardy category called "animals in baseball" with some of the best moments. Even the rally parakeet can make an appearance and we would all get a good laugh out of it.
