VIDEO: Slow Motion Footage of Luke Voit Getting Hit by Pitch in Face is Absolutely Nuts
By Parker White

Luke Voit is getting praise for staying in the game and running the bases after taking a fastball to the face from Colorado Rockies right-hander Chad Bettis, as he should. To further explain how impressive that is, take a slow-motion look at the Yankees slugger taking a pitch to the mouth.

Ouch. That has got to hurt. I mean, his face probably went numb and you can already see that his lip was swelling up after the ball smacked him pretty good.
Voit ended up scoring a run in the inning and then was pulled from the game in a precautionary move from skipper Aaron Boone. He went through, and came out cleanly, from the concussion protocol.
Stayed in the game. Went 1st to third on the next hit. Probably can't feel his face. Lip is already balooning pic.twitter.com/HUGSh8E76L

Voit has to be from another planet. Some guys are never the same after taking a pitch like that so far up and in, but he's not sweating it and continued to play. What a stud.
