VIDEO: Star Freshman Cole Anthony Scores First Career Bucket for North Carolina
By Scott Rogust
With Zion Williamson leaving for the NBA, the NCAA has its next big star in the form of elite freshman Cole Anthony of the North Carolina Tar Heels. Anthony is an early favorite to win the National Player of the Year, and is in the mix to become the No. 1 NBA prospect alongside LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman. On Wednesday night, Anthony got his first collegiate bucket in North Carolina's season opener against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, on a driving layup inside the paint.
While the bucket wasn't anything too flashy, UNC fans will surely be pleased to see him getting involved early on and not hesitating to make an impact on his college debut.
Anthony is providing plenty of hope and creating high expectations for the Tar Heels basketball program. He's a player you definitely should be watching if you're a passionate college basketball fan.
