VIDEO: Stefon Diggs-Kirk Cousins Sideline Interaction Tells Different Story After Apparent Outburst
By Jerry Trotta
Stefon Diggs was trending during the Vikings' Wild Card Round tilt against the Saints on Sunday, and for all of the wrong reasons. The star wideout was seen throwing a temper tantrum for -- what seemed like at the time -- the lack of targets he was receiving from Kirk Cousins. Diggs was even involved in a heated verbal exchange with a referee. It would appear, however, that the Maryland product's antics are all boiled down to passion and the betterment of the team. Checkout this revealing sideline interaction he shared with Cousins moments after his eruption.
That says it all, folks. Diggs is probably due some form of an apology for the sheer flack he received on social media during the game.
This marks the second time this week that Diggs' supposed petulance was mistaken for genuine empathy. Remember when he appeared to troll Sean Payton moments after Minnesota completed their upset over New Orleans?
Footage later confirmed that Diggs embraced the Saints HC, and had actually been celebrating just moments before seeing Payton approaching. He was not, as was widely believed, mocking Payton.
Could Diggs do a better job of keeping his emotions under wraps? Absolutely. But for future references, let's refrain from jumping the gun and calling him a diva until the entire story is publicized.
