VIDEO: Steph Curry Says He Doesn't Care About Winning Finals MVP But He Totally Does
By Scott Rogust
Steph Curry is heading to his fifth consecutive NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors. During his past four runs, however, he's never been named Finals MVP award, and his detractors are never shy to bring that up. During an interview Wednesday, Curry said that he doesn't care about winning the individual award, only about winning his fourth NBA Championship. But at a certain point, it's hard to imagine that it doesn't actually matter to him.
It certainly does look like Curry is a bit bothered after this topic was brought to his attention yet again. He flipped the script, however, by saying he sees only positives considering that he's playing for a Larry O'Brien Trophy for a fifth consecutive year.
The Warriors are a highly motivated team now that Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins are out with injuries. Ever since, Curry and Draymond Green have particularly stepped up their games and helped these Warriors look like the team that won the franchise's first title under Steve Kerr back in 2015.
Analyzing Curry's facial expression will do no good, as the star point guard is focused on winning his fourth championship. But if he does end up doing so and hoisting the Bill Russell Finals MVP trophy for the first time, don't think he won't be pretty darn happy about it.
