VIDEO: Stephen Strasburg Embarrasses Corey Seager With Mind-Bending Curveball
By Karl Rasmussen
Stephen Strasburg deserves more appreciation. The Nationals' star isn't the team's ace, but he's sure played the part in the postseason thus far. After helping to control the game in relief of Scherzer in the Wild Card, Stras got the start in Game 2 of the NLDS, and he was sharp against one of baseball's best offenses. To show you just how filthy his stuff was on Friday night, have a look at this utterly disgusting curveball that had Corey Seager so confused he was wishing he never stepped into the batter's box to begin with.
That is a pitch of sheer beauty. What looks like it's going to sit around the inside corner ends up diving right down towards Seager's back ankle, almost fooling the catcher while bringing down Seager to a knee.
Naturally, the Dodgers' shortstop was nowhere near making contact with this one.
