VIDEO: Steve Nash Plays Pickup Basketball at Venice Beach in a Full Suit
By Chris Pyo
In case you've been wondering what 45-year-old Steve Nash has been up to, the former two-time NBA MVP still has game. Sure, Nash is playing against a bunch of average Joes at Venice Beach in this latest clip, but he's decked out in a full suit. The guy was ready to hit up a wedding, not play some pickup in 75-degree weather. And yet, there he is, dropping buckets.
Nash played 18 seasons in the NBA, averaging 14.3 points and 8.5 assists per contest on his way to eight All-Star nods, three All-NBA First Teams, and enshrinement in the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2018. And he still looks like he could man point guard for a couple of teams in need.
He was a wizard for the Mavericks and Suns -- let's try to forget about that tiny stint he had with the Lakers at the end of his career -- and made the NBA oh-so-much-fun to watch.
Now, it's good to see him enjoying retirement, but is it too much to ask him to come back and play some point for someone? If 42-year-old Vince Carter can still dunk, Nash should be more than able to run the floor and dish out a couple of dimes.
