VIDEO: Stipe Miocic Celebrates UFC Heavyweight Victory With Browns' Myles Garrett
By Kevin Aquino
Well, this is how you celebrate making a statement at UFC 241. Stipe Miocic reclaimed the UFC Heavyweight Championship by knocking out Daniel Cormier earlier this month, and got his party on after the victory.
A Cleveland native who often reps his city, Miocic was seen with a huge champagne bottle and sharing a UFC championship belt cake with Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.
Both Miocic and the Browns seem to be on an upswing, and some Cleveland fans are more confident about it than others. Miocic suffered a knockout loss to Cormier last year, but stuck to a healthy diet of body shots to soften DC up in the rematch to become a champ once again.
On the opposite side of things, 40-year-old Cormier is teetering on the brink of retirement after his second official loss (third time if you count his knockout loss to Jon Jones in 2017).
Should Cormier want to fight again, a trilogy fight with Miocic should be discussed, as both fights ended in dynamite fashion. Cormier has nothing left to prove as a two-division UFC champion and one of MMA's greats.
But, if DC is looking to win the trilogy and provide some closure for his Hall-of-Fame career, the opportunity is right there for the taking.
