VIDEO: Tennessee QB JT Shrout Had Absolutely No Idea How to Answer a Rotary Phone
By Karl Rasmussen
It's 2019, so we're long past the days of rotary phones. And that became more evident than ever perhaps when one Tennessee Volunteers football player was trying to showboat on the sideline. For whatever reason, freshman quarterback JT Shrout was handed a rotary phone while on camera during the Vols game against Florida, and his attempt at pretending to be receiving a phone call was outright disgraceful.
Yeah, Mr. Shrout, that's not how you answer a telephone.
His hilarious attempt to press his ear against the base of the machine was one of the most dumbfounding moments of the college football season, as we're really not sure how he assumed that would be the way the device functioned.
Things didn't get much better for the Vols from then on either, as they were trounced in a 34-3 blowout.
