This is certainly troublesome news considering that Mize was the first overall draft pick last year out of Auburn. Prior to leaving, Mize struck out 2 batters, while allowing 1 hit and 1 walk through 2.1 innings of work.
Mize has been excelling this season in the Tigers' farm system. He has posted an 8-0 record and an impressive 0.95 ERA through 12 games this year, and even threw a no-hitter in his Double-A debut with Erie.

Hopefully, this is more precautionary than anything. Mize is one of the game's most exciting prospects, and has earned the right to keep rising in the ranks.
