VIDEO: Tommy Edman Smacks 2-Run Shot as Cardinals Take Early Lead Over Pirates
By Karl Rasmussen
Tommy Edman hasn't necessarily flexed much power at the plate since earning his Cardinals' promotion, but that doesn't mean he can't park a ball in the seats. Pirates starter Alex McRae found that out the hard way, as he served up a meat ball which Edman sent over the wall for two runs in the second inning.
After a long battle between McRae and Edman, the latter went bridge on a full count to hand St. Louis a 2-0 lead. It was his sixth blast of the year, and he now has 25 RBI under his belt.
