VIDEO: Try Not to Laugh as David Carr Insists That Eli Manning's Still Got it
By Joey Mauceri

Welcome to the "Eli Manning Can Still Play" fan club, David Carr! I'd like to introduce you to the other members, including David Gettleman and... well, that's it. That said, here is comedy in its purest form as Carr, one of the most infamous busts ever to be drafted No. 1 overall, insists during a segment on NFL Network that longtime Giants quarterback Eli Manning can still play at a high level.

Are you done laughing yet? Okay, I'll wait.
Okay, David, anybody who has at least one functioning eyeball can tell you that Eli Manning is a shell of his former self. Anyone who watched him can see that when he's not checking down to Saquon Barkley, he's underthrowing and overthrowing open receivers like it's his job. If this wasn't the case, the Giants may not have bothered drafting Daniel Jones as highly as they did.

The numbers don't lie. Over the past three seasons Manning has a passer rating of just 86.3 with 66 touchdowns and 40 interceptions. Even with an uptick in passer rating this past season at 92.4, that mark still only ranked 21st among qualified quarterbacks.
Not to mention you could build a house with all the excuses fans make for Eli, including Carr. Look, the man may be going to the Hall of Fame one day, but he's about as washed as it gets. Let's not play games here.
