VIDEO: Twins Break All-Time Single-Season Home Run Record in Freaking August With Mitch Garver Blast
By Adam Weinrib
Thank goodness the Bomba Squad got the job done before the calendar turned to September. If the Minnesota Twins had simply launched their way past the 2018 New York Yankees' single-season team home run mark sometime in the season's final month, we're pretty sure the world would've been bored by it. But since their 268th dinger of the campaign came in AUGUST? Noteworthy. This Mitch Garver blast in the ninth (His 26th! Mitch Garver!!) sealed the deal.
Come on now. Mitch Garver having 26 dingers in a career is sort of hard to believe. In one season? The game has changed.
Congrats to the Bomba Squad -- while everyone's leveling up, dinger-wise, they're doing it the very best, by a wide margin.
