VIDEO: Twins' Miguel Sano Tipping His Helmet to Carlos Carrasco is Pure Class
By Jerry Trotta
When Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia back in June, he promised that he would return to the mound. Well, that uplifting moment came nearly three months later on Sept. 1 in a relief cameo at Tropicana Field against the Tampa Bay Rays. Flash forward to Carrasco's appearance against the Twins on Friday night, and the commotion of emotions continued. Minnesota slugger Miguel Sano tipped his helmet to the 32-year-old hurler before stepping into the batters box, setting a fierce division rivalry aside.
Class personified. It really doesn't get much better than this. It was a simple gesture, but one that carried great weight.
Carrasco looked strong and healthy out of Terry Francona's bullpen once again, conceding just one hit while striking out two batters in a scoreless inning of work. If you need something to feel good about, just watch this four-second clip on repeat.
