VIDEO: Tyler Glasnow Freezes Astros' Yordan Alvarez With Filthy 99 MPH Fastball to Get Out of Jam
By Thomas Carannante

Yordan Alvarez is going to want that one back. The Houston Astros had the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning against Tampa Bay Rays starter Tyler Glasnow, but the rookie couldn't come through. Glasnow got himself out of the jam by painting the outside corner beautifully with a filthy 99 MPH fastball. Alvarez had no rebuttal.
GOT'EM.

Catcher Travis d'Arnaud's setup likely threw Alvarez off, but you simply have to protect the plate there. Sure, the Astros have Justin Verlander on the mound, but the offense needs to produce runs to avoid having this become a battle of the bullpens.
Alvarez has actually been slumping significantly lately, while you were sleeping.
Yordan Alvarez is in a 1-for-17 slump during which he's struck out eight times.

Glasnow has a ton of momentum going into the next inning, so this could turn the tides in Game 1 of the ALDS.
