VIDEO: UFC Star Khabib Nurmagomedov Trying to Play Basketball Went Just as You'd Expect
By Scott Rogust

UFC fans were treated to an early Christmas present in the form of the announcement that UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will face "El Cucuy" Tony Ferguson for the title next April. Nurmagomedov is known for his precision strikes and his ground game in the ring. But how would his skills translate onto a basketball court? Very well, apparently, based off a video posted to Khabib's official Twitter account on Wednesday.

Okay, so he doesn't have the shooting form of Klay Thompson, but the shot went in right? And based on NBA officials' lack of judgement on LeBron James' carry on Wednesday, this would have been a clean bucket in the league.
Insulting Khabib's basketball abilities probably isn't the best idea, so instead we'll compliment his tenacity on the offensive glass.

Nurmagomedov is coming off a third-round submission victory of Dustin Poirier this past September at UFC 242, extending his mixed martial arts record to 28-0-0, which is the longest active undefeated streak in the sport.
If Khabib takes down Ferguson at the Barclays Center, maybe he can stick around in Brooklyn and tryout for the Nets.
