VIDEO: USA Cruises to Another Dominant Win Over Chile in 2019 Women's World Cup

The United States Women's national team, which came into the 2019 Women's World Cup as co-favorites alongside host nation France, advanced to the knockout stage with another dominant win in group play, taking down a deep, experienced Chile side 3-0. Carli Lloyd fired the first salvo against the Chileans with an exceptional strike from just inside the 18-yard box.
Julie Ertz, the wife of Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz, wasted almost no time in doubling the American advantage. She fired one past Chilean goalie Christiane Endler, one of the best goalies across all of women's soccer, to give the U.S. a 2-0 lead.
The U.S. put this one away before halftime, as Lloyd bagged a brace when she scored her 10th World Cup goal, heading home a Tierna Davidson corner to make it 3-0 in the 35th minute. Even at age 36, Lloyd continues to shine brightest on the biggest stage.
While this wasn't as dominant a win as their controversial 13-0 embarrassment of Thailand in their first game, the US played one of the best South American teams in this tournament and controlled the game in all phases.
The U.S. will finish off group play on Thursday, June 20 when they take on Sweden.
