The kings got their crown back. The Vanderbilt Commodores captured their fourth College World Series title this decade, and their first since 2015, with an 8-2 win over Jesse Franklin and Michigan in the decisive Game 3.

While the Commodores often leaned on the performances of star pitcher Kumar Rocker and power-hitting outfielder JJ Bleday, who the Miami Marlins took with the fourth overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, Vanderbilt rode a balanced effort with contributions up and down the lineup to a victory in Omaha on Wednesday night.
While Bleday did drive in a run, his fellow outfielders, center fielder Pat DeMarco and left fielder Stephen Scott, combined for four RBI to get Vanderbilt out to an early 4-1 lead in the third inning that they never relinquished.

Look all around the MLB and you'll see former Commodores. It's only right that one of the most dominant programs in recent college baseball history could get back on top of the pile by taking down a talented Michigan team that gave them everything they could handle.
