VIDEO: Vikings Channel 'The Matrix' in Bizarre Instagram Clip Ahead of 49ers Showdown
By Michael Luciano
The game hasn't even started yet, but the Minnesota Vikings have already found themselves trailing against the San Francisco 49ers, as their social media activity was too much to handle. The Vikings posted a really bizarre video that parodies "The Matrix" and shows two teams re-enacting one of the movie's classic scenes, with the 49ers serving as Agent Smith and the Vikings playing Neo.
Let's do a break down of this scene. Two anthropomorphic helmets, neither of whom have eyes, talk to each other. The 49ers helmet shoots a gun with "Big Tech" on the side, and then the Vikings helmet has to dodge the "bullets" of Instagram, Twitter, and Uber. The Vikings helmet then kicks the 49ers helmet in the "face." Does this make sense to anyone?
This does appear to have somewhat of a higher production value than most 20 second Instagram videos, but the whole thing is just so bizarre. Who green-lit this monstrosity?
If their pregame social media activity is anything to go by, the Vikings could be in for a hammering at the hands of the 49ers.
