VIDEO: Vladimir Guerrero Jr Survives Joc Pederson in Insane Marathon Home Run Derby 2nd Round
By Sean Facey
Now THAT was an all-time Home Run Derby moment. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Joc Pederson traded back-and-forth blows in an amazing clash of home run goliaths in the second round, with both of them shattering the single-round record of 29 set by Vlad earlier in the evening. It was Guerrero, though, who ultimately coming out on top.
It was insane. He ended up with 37 through the extra round.
Joc Pederson was sure to answer in kind, though, tying him at the buzzer.
It took another swing-off, coming down to Pederson's final hack, but he just couldn't match Vlad's 40.
A win like that is definitely worth celebrating.
For an event that many people said had lost it's luster, Guerrero and Pederson literally did everything in their power to make the Home Run Derby the most exciting it's ever been.
