VIDEO: Watch Alex Cora Completely Lose His Mind After Twins Defeat Red Sox in 17-Inning Marathon
By Thomas Carannante
The Minnesota Twins evened up their series against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night thanks to some very, very late-inning heroics on three separate occasions. The Twins tied it up in the bottom of the eighth, then in the bottom of the 13th and then won it in the bottom of the 17th. Max Kepler is your hero.
Good night Boston! Kepler also hit the game-tying home run in the bottom of the 13th on a night he was supposed to have off!
But this one wasn't without controversy. In the 17th inning with one out and a runner on, Twins slugger Eddie Rosario attempted a bunt against the shift and Sox manager Alex Cora believed he was out of the batter's box when he made the attempt. Cora asked for a review but it wasn't granted and then Rosario ripped a double to put runners on second and third.
Once the Red Sox lost two batters later, Cora went bonkers on the umps.
He apologized for his outburst and "out-of-character" moment after he saw the replay only to discover Rosario indeed had both feet in the batter's box, nullifying the initial argument.
Then again, anybody is susceptible to losing their minds after 17 innings of baseball.
