VIDEO: Watch All of Gerrit Cole's 11 Strikeouts From Wednesday Night's Gem

The Houston Astros entered Wednesday night seeking their first win in their four-game set against the Los Angeles Angels. Houston tasked right-hander Gerrit Cole with stopping Mike Trout and the Angels, and he certainly delivered. Cole shut down LA with 11 strikeouts in Houston's 11-2 victory.

Through seven full innings, Cole was on fire. Although he allowed seven hits, he only gave up one run to go along with his 11 strikeouts. Those strikeouts earned Cole his 10th win on the season and his second against the Angels this year.
Cole's 11 punchouts was a rare feat against the Halos as well.

Cole is the first MLB pitcher this season to record a 10+ strikeout game against the Angels, who entered tonight's game with the fewest strikeouts in the Majors.
He now sits at a solid 10-5 record with a 3.23 ERA on the season through his first 21 starts.
The Astros and Angels finish out their series Thursday night, with the Astros still trying to salvage an even split of the four games. Astros' southpaw Wade Miley is set to finish out the fourth game in Anaheim.
