The Atlanta Braves added some much-needed fire power to their bullpen by signing relief pitcher Will Smith to a three-year deal last week. The team held a press conference on Monday to introduce the newly-acquired MLB All-Star.

Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos seems to be very high on the veteran, who should bring both talent and experience to a shaky bullpen. He showered Smith with praise during the presser by saying, "The example that he sets is going to huge for us."
Smith appears to be very happy about joining the reigning NL East champs as well.
"We knew what we wanted. We knew that we wanted to come to a winner."

"We knew we wanted to come to a winner," said the left left-handed reliever when asked if he made it clear to his agent that Atlanta was his preferred destination.
The Braves are looking to bounce back and make a World Series run in 2020, and jumping at the opportunity to sign Smith early in free agency certainly moves the needle in the right direction for them.
There's still time for Atlanta to make some additional moves with plenty of big fish out there in free agency, but signing Smith right off the bat is an ambitious, message-sending start.
