VIDEO: Watch Kevin Durant Walking Around LA Without Crutches
By Aaron Halford
After suffering a severe Achilles injury in the NBA Finals over a month ago, Kevin Durant is out and about walking the streets of Los Angeles—a welcome sight for Nets fans and NBA fans alike.
While the video doesn't give away much about Durant's mobility, it's great to see the superstar forward walking around without crutches, period. He's expected to miss the duration of the 2019-20 NBA season, and many have speculated about Durant's ability to return to peak form at all. But first things first.
Though the Brooklyn Nets are fully expected to be a playoff team next season, they'll have trouble getting past the Eastern Conference elite. They have a nice young core in Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, and Caris LeVert, to say nothing of the addition of Kyrie Irving, but it likely won't be enough to defeat Philadelphia or Milwaukee teams that have won a ton more games.
However, Durant's return should help them compete against any team in the East or West. Walking without a boot or crutches on Aug. 1 was definitely not something fans expected after seeing Durant hobble off the court during the Finals. His recovery continues apace.
