VIDEO: Watch Pete Alonso Soak in Every Moment of His Record-Breaking Home Run in Mets' Win
By Chris Russo
Pete Alonso enjoyed his memorable home run the way he celebrates every one of them, because you won't see them for long. This clip just makes the New York Mets slugger that much more likable, doesn't it?
Gotta love it.
Alonso broke the MLB rookie record for home runs set by Aaron Judge in 2016 with his 53rd dinger on Saturday night. The first baseman received major recognition this week after tying the record.
Alonso has earned the admiration of fans through not only his outstanding power hitting ability, but by honoring his adopted hometown and being a team leader.
The Florida native has been on an absolute tear all year, during which he has captured the Home Run Derby crown and helped guide the Mets from losers in June to contenders in September. The record, though, really stands out.
When all is said and done, he'll probably be the regular-season home run king too.
