VIDEO: Watch Yankees' Gleyber Torres Bury Rays With Grand Slam
By Michael Luciano
The Tampa Bay Rays have been on the wrong end of a butt-kicking at the hands of the Yankees Wednesday. Starter Blake Snell left the game after recording just one out, and the Bronx Bombers have been teeing off on the Rays bullpen. After seeing six cross the plate in the first inning, The Yankees officially put the Rays to bed with a Gleyber Torres grand slam that gave New York a 12-1 advantage.
That was Torres' 16th home run on the season, as he continues his open season against AL East teams.
At just 22 years old, Torres became the youngest Yankee to hit a grand slam since 21-year-old Melky Cabrera in 2006.
Sometimes, it's just not your day, and the Rays looked out of sorts from the word go today.
