VIDEO: Welington Castillo Crushes a Grand Slam off Nationals' Patrick Corbin
By Seth Carlson
A grand slam can be known as a grand salami, but if you're White Sox catcher Welington Castillo, you might want to substitute for beef. It is his nickname, after all.
Batting with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the first against the Washington Nationals, the South Side catcher dinged one to dead center for a grand slam. The beef salami was his fifth of the year and put the White Sox in front off Patrick Corbin.
Papa Johns sponsors grand slams in MLB, maybe put some beef toppings on that pizza, because Beef Welington just delivered up a bases clearing jack.
Corbin is one of the game's finest pitchers, but Castillo was able to win the battle against the Nationals' lefty.
