Whit Merrifield has joined the record books, hitting the 100th inside-the-park home run in Kansas City Royals history. It looked as though White Sox catcher, James McCann had prevented Merrifield from scoring, but upon further review, Merrifield was safe, putting another one on the board for Kansas City.

Merrifield showcased his speed on this one, but was helped by a friendly roll and a half-hearted diving catch attempt from White Sox right fielder Ryan Cordell.
The All-Star second baseman had 11 home runs going into the game against the Royals' AL Central counterpart, with Kansas City sitting second-to-last and behind Chicago in the standings.
