VIDEO: Xander Bogaerts and Rafael Devers Hit Back to Back Bombs to Complete Domination of Toronto
By Austin Pert
How about that cherry on top of a blowout road win?! The Boston Red Sox now go three games above .500 with a 12-2 pulverization of the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. In the ninth inning, when the game had long been out of doubt, Boston really flexed its muscles and made it a true blowout.
Before the Jays could even record the first out in the top of the ninth inning on their way to ending their miserable day at the park, the Xander Bogaerts smashed a pitch into left field, with Rafael Devers' turn right after, hitting a fastball into the bleachers in right immediately after.
Boston (25-22) continues to make 2019 painful for Toronto, with the Blue Jays falling to 19-28. Not a bad way to start the week for the defending champs.
